EURORDIS is offering patient fellowships for up to 30 meriting patients’ advocates to attend the 7th European Conference on Rare Diseases & Orphan Products taking place on 8 – 10 May 2014 in Berlin, Germany.
These fellowships aim at empowering patients’ advocates by offering a platform for networking opportunities, access to information and sharing experiences.
The EURORDIS-ECRD 2014 Patients’ Advocates Fellowship programme is offered to enable the participation of patients’ advocates from European patient organisations lacking proper funding to cover their representative’s travel expenses.
The total of the travel and hotel expenses reimbursed by EURORDIS cannot exceed a maximum of 500 € per fellow.
Fellows will be selected based on their advocacy skills and objectives, by an ad hoc committee and notified by 15 January 2014.
Mutual Commitment: Selected patient fellows must be available to attend the EURORDIS Membership Meeting capacity-building workshops taking place on Thursday, 8 May and all sessions of the ECRD and will be invited to send EURORDIS a short report after the Conference, to share their testimonies and analysis of their country’s situation with respect to access to rare disease information, treatment, care and services.
